The most prevalent religion in the world today is neither Christianity nor Islam, but narcissism. Narcissism is not exclusive to secularism, where it is prolific; it is also the driving force in false religions, where it masquerades as divine service to a higher power.
Narcissism is a spirit of many faces and forms. It can bind together those who embrace ideologies that diametrically oppose each otherβusually by the mutual glue of a much greater hatred for a third partyβbut it is not a permanent adhesive. Marxism and Islam’s quasi-cohabitation is an example; it is a marriage of convenience between strange bedfellows who are destined for divorce.
In essence, the god of narcissism is βI am always right, period.β All others are tolerated only to the extent they can be used to achieve the narcissistβs agenda. They do not intend to accept nonconforming ideas long-term but to eventually reform or phase them out. At heart, they are absolutists, regardless of whether they proclaim it as a crown of honor or if they attempt to hide it by parading themselves as tolerant, anti-fascist, and embracers of diversity. Violence is at the core of all of them.
Narcissists are not to be questioned; they are cultistsβin their minds, all things are settled. Any objector to their doctrine, whatever it may be, is held in contempt before the grand inquisitors, i.e., fact-checkers, moderators, and administratorsβwho have appointed themselves as the arbiters of truth over the distribution of information. Offenders are subject to being discredited, censored, banned, or, allegorically speaking, exiled or βput to deathβ in the cyberspace of social interactions.
And who are the gods of narcissism? There are many: chiefly, politicos and those who own them; scientists; so-called journalists; so-called academia; and egotistical celebritiesβthese, along with social media technocrats, corporations, religious cults, and even the culture itself, have together created a religion. Nonconformity makes one an infidel; questioning authority is a sin, and disputation is blasphemy.
The gods of societal narcissism are gods before whom, should you ever run afoul, you must forever repent, but you can never be forgiven. Still, you are required to pay for your sins perpetually.
Luciferβs rebellion displayed the epitome of narcissism: pride, selfishness, and rebellion. It earned him the name Satan. Jesus Christ, contrarily, came humble, selfless, and in obedience and defeated Satan with truth and goodness.
Jesus said the Kingdom of Heaven is within; so also, the kingdom of Hell is in those who reject God. Those who reject God are given over to narcissism or find themselves being oppressed and ruled by those who are possessed by it.
Jesus said, βWhen you know the truth, the truth will set you free.β He came to break the chains of the Luciferian spirit, obsessing mortals to be as gods. To be as a god was the temptation the serpent employed to entice Eve when he proclaimed, βYe shall be as gods.β
The result was not what she expected; Psalm 82:6-7 tells us, βI have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. But ye shall die like men.β The persona of Christ is the opposite of narcissism. He alone can set us free from death through His humility on the cross.
